Brief Details:
This course focuses on the introduction to the penetrant method – Principles of penetrant inspection – Materials – methods – the compatibility of materials – equipment and safety aspects – performance checking – the selection of techniques – Penetrant groups – Pre-cleaning methods – Penetrant testing methods and techniques – Types of developers – Sensitivity & resolution checking of test systems – defect detection and evaluation – practical exercises; methods of assessing sensitivity, Interpretation, and evaluation, reporting, instruction writing, and Product technology.
Course Objectives:
- To explain the basic principles of penetrant inspection methods
- To carry out penetrant inspection using solvent-removable, water-washable, and post-emulsifiable/removal processes
- To write clear and concise inspection instructions and test reports
- To develop inspection techniques and procedure that shall be followed
- To analyze, interpret, and evaluate the test results.
ATC take a mission to give the candidate training in NDT Level II PT method, especially in the oil and gas and Manufacturing Sectors, as per SNT-TC1A and ATC written practice, to give the candidate a clear vision and basics about the theory of method and practical experience to be able to be proactive personnel at the site.
